The Fog.....

A while back hubby took my new camera and went to his remote control flying field and took this first picture. Isn't it great? I just love the fog and the gazebo. Hubby was snapping pictures of everything that day, planes, gazebo's, trees and more planes. The large planes he flies have about a 100" wing span..now that's a BIG plane! It even looks bigger on his workbench...my dining room table! :) His flying group is a great bunch of people. I have met some really nice ladies and when we get together we have a great time. So as the weather gets better and you happen to look up in the sky, think about me, I'll probably be out at some grassy field watching an airshow, a remote control air show! They are the best ones, no ear protection needed!!

Basketweaving Weekend NC

My weekend in NC basket weaving was wonderful! 50 members of our local guild attended, guild members won 10 ribbons and 6 won raffles. We all had a great time.

The weekend started out on Wednesday with a nice relaxing ride with my basket friend Billie. She has this slick navigation system in her car that is way too much for me, every time I touched it, it never did what I wanted. Wednesday night we wrapped tables with plastic, it only took about an hour..woooohoooo..now we are ready for some weaving! Thursday morning we were up and ready, my roomies and me... Marsha and Janet were great roommates. I had great classes, bought lots of new and exciting goodies and even played nurse to Billie when she punctured herself with a weaving tool. (And by the way, she had to get a Tetanus shot and antibiotics on Monday!) Our trip home started out uneventful, then we missed a turn and nope could still not figure out the navigation system, so we turned around and low and be hold saw our missed turn where we were able to correct our error. Wow...the weekend was full of fun, friends and fellowship. I am always excited about going and then always excited to be home. As much as I enjoyed my roomies, I am still in love with my favorite roommate at home...the hubby!!!

I'm a Grandma!!!!!

Meet my Granddog Leonadias, Leo for short. Is this the cutest thing you have ever seen? He is 8 weeks old, 2 lbs and is just like an infant. My daughter Mallori and her boyfriend Anthony decided to get a dog. They looked for a few weeks and found a breeder of Yorkies. They went to see them and were instantly in love. How can you not be with a face like this? On Saturday they picked Leo up and he has stolen everyone's heart, even Grandpa's!
Grandpa Jim and Leo

I am excited that I have a new Grandbaby...glad it's a dog and one day hopefully we will have a grand baby! But for now, welcome Leo to the family!!!

Uncle Jackson and Nephew Leo-Jackson is welcoming Leo to the family.

I'm off.....

I'm finally packed and ready to go. I will be at my basket weaving convention for 5 days. Each year it is almost as exciting as the first. I have the say the first was the most exciting and stressful. You don't know what to expect and it's major basket overload! Each year I get to see old friends and make new. About 40 members from our local guild attend each year.
I'm leaving the hubby and friend here to fend for themselves. I only ask two things, when I return no dishes in the sink and have the dancing girls out before I get home. :)
See you all on Sunday and I'll post pictures of my creations...I'm so excited!!!!!!

Basket friends are the best friends!!!

I'm almost gone.....

Tomorrow I leave for my annual basket weaving convention...no we don't do underwater weaving! My boss Mike likes to joke me about this all the time! :) I am so ready to go. Now the packing is not quite finished, but it will be by 9:00 am tomorrow morning. This week at work , now remember it's only been a two day week, has been kinda crazy. You know how everyone wants everything yesterday? Yes, that has been my week. I have to tell you I love my job and the people I work with, so it's not too bad, even when it is crazy. I got everything done that needed to be done and I left at 4:15 and made it to the bank as I need money for my trip! I'll try to post in the morning, but if not....See you Sunday!
PS...spoke to the world traveler daughter, she is doing great!

Packing....

I am currently getting ready for my basket weaving 4 days....and I am in the process of packing. I hate to pack!!! Let me tell you that again, I HATE TO PACK!!! I have this terrible sense of "what will fit in this bag"...as my hubby would say, I try to fit 20 lbs of crap in a 5 lb bag!! So tonight I am trying to to pack and re-pack and un-pack and pack again. Pulling all my basket "stuff" out of the drawers, closet and trying to match it all up..I just hate it...did I say I hated it?
I went to the store to get my food, I have it all nice and neat in my shopping bag. Do you love those re-usable shopping bags? I have about 5 or 6 and love them. Back to my story....I can pack up my food. I went into my basket room and cleaned out my tool bag and re-packed it. No trouble. Guess it's just the clothes that I am having trouble containing. I'll keep you posted on my packing issues....got some free time? Come on by and pack for me!

Rainy Weekend

Don't you just love those rainy weekends that you get to stay home and do whatever you like or do absolutely nothing? This weekend has been one of those weekends. It has rained since Friday morning and it is still raining! My yard is filling up, the ditches are full and the pool cover is full. Saturday I didn't step outside, it was nice. I did around the house stuff...laundry, TV, dishes and weaving..it was fun! Then today had to run out and meet two basket friends for lunch and went to the book store with the hubby. So now I am just hanging around on the computer. A nice relaxing weekend, I love it!!!

Here's Jackson, our Lab, sleeping today...he loves a rainy day,
matter of fact..he sleeps like this everyday!

Reagan Elizabeth....my new niece...soon...

I ran out today and came upon a yard sale...and there was sitting on a table, a huge pile of little girl clothes...the cutest baby clothes ever. Of course I had to purchase them. I was picking out some clothes and then my neighbor gave me the whole bag! Yes...the whole bag!! I have a ton of cute little clothes to take to my brother and sister in law tomorrow. I have had so much fun looking at little girl clothes, it brings back so many memories of when I purchased clothes for my daughters. Then they grow up and you cannot purchase anything that they like!!!
Reagan Elizabeth...we cannot wait for you to get here!!!

It's a Girl!!!

My brother Bob is having a Girl!!! We are so happy!!! I must tell you the story of Bob...Bob was 41 when he married (for the first time) the woman of his dreams, Mandy. She is really a sweetheart and we, the whole family, is in love with her! She has two boys and loves Bob enough to give him a child. He has always wanted and wife and children. He didn't know if it would happen and when he met Mandy the bells and whistles went off...big time!!! They were married in June and by October they were expecting. You go Bob! Guess all that practice paid off! HAHA (Sorry Momma if you are reading this) Bob was about the most excited groom we have ever seen and I think he is the most excited Dad. I know the entire county he lives in knows that he is having a daughter. Reagan Elizabeth will be born in July. We all anxiously await her arrival. She will be born into a huge family of lots of love. I have two wonderful nephews and will now have a niece...how exciting! Reagan Aunt Cindy can't wait to meet you!!

The Weekend...

Isn't the weekend just the best? I love to wake up late, putz around the house and just hang out. It's almost 11:00 am and I am still in my pj's just doing this and that. This week was a total stress week with rain, ice, snow, closings, work stress and just about everything in between so now it's time to relax. The hubby just left for a motorcycle ride with friends and he won't be home for a while. The dog, Jackson, is just sleeping on his bed and me, I am just sitting here quietly on the computer. What a nice start to the day. It's already about 60 degrees out side and it is expected to be at least 70 today...whooohoooo!!! So get out that and enjoy the day!!! I sure will!!

Best Friends are the Best!!!!!!!!

We all have many friends and we all have many types of friends. Some friends are in our lives for a short time and for a reason. Some friends are there when you need them and some are just there. I am very fortunate to have a couple of best friends. I must tell you about one. Vicki is my long time best friend. We have known each other since the first grade. Yes, the first grade. We cheered together. We were there when the other had her first date, her first kiss, her wedding and her children. As soon as I was married I moved 1500 miles away, and Vicki was always on the other end of the phone or the other end of the mail when I needed her. I am so lucky to have her in my life. We think alike, we know each other, it's a wonderful thing. When my daughter just left for the Azores, Vicki knew I would be upset and she brightened my day with a basket of flowers. Aren't they beautiful! I know I can count on Vicki for anything. We don't talk every day and sometimes we don't talk every week (especially during tax season, her career) but I know I can call and she's there. Vicki I love you like my sister! PS---to my sister Kelli...I love you too!!!

Thanks Vicki, they did the trick!!
